App compatibility for 15-inch MacBook Air

The larger M5 MacBook Air has a 15.3-inch display, 10-core GPU, six-speaker system, and the same two-display support as the 13-inch Air.

What this model changes

The 15-inch MacBook Air is the larger fanless M5 notebook introduced for 2026. Unlike the smaller Air’s 8-core base GPU option, this model lists a 10-core GPU and combines it with a 15.3-inch panel and six-speaker sound system.

The native and Rosetta labels below describe an app’s Mac architecture support. They do not promise that every workflow fits a given configuration, so the 16GB to 32GB memory range and 512GB to 4TB storage range remain useful checks for large creative or development projects.

15-inch versus 13-inch M5 MacBook Air

The 15-inch Air trades compactness for a 15.3-inch canvas, a larger 66.5Wh battery, and a six-speaker system. The 13-inch Air uses a 13.6-inch display, a 53.8Wh battery, and four speakers, while retaining the same memory ceiling and external-display count.

Model-specific decision guide

What the larger M5 Air adds—and what it does not

This size combines a 15.3-inch panel with the 10-core GPU and a six-speaker system. Its larger enclosure does not turn it into a MacBook Pro: the documented memory, storage, external-display count, and Thunderbolt 4 port set remain Air-family specifications.

  • The 2880 by 1864 panel provides the larger built-in workspace; both 2026 Air sizes retain 500-nit P3 Liquid Retina displays.
  • Six speakers with force-cancelling woofers distinguish its audio hardware from the four-speaker 13-inch model.
  • Memory still tops out at 32GB and external support at two displays, so screen size alone does not raise those capacity limits.
